Best Ground Clearance with Trailer Hitch for 2015 Toyota RAV4
Updated 03/22/2022 | Published 03/21/2022 >
Question:
I just put on a hitch #75235 on my 2015 Toyota Rav4. But it looks way too low. The bottom of the 2inch square sits 9.5inch above ground. With a cargo carrier, if I am on a steep hill, I think it would be possible to hit it. Is there another hitch that would sit higher? Would I have to cut the fascia or remove the cover in the back? Is there a picture of what it would look like? Or is there an adapter to move up the height 2-3 inches?

The most ground clearance offered with a trailer hitch for a 2015 Toyota RAV4 is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13406. This hitch has a hidden design so the receiver tube will be tucked up under the bumper as close as possible giving you the most ground clearance. It does require that you trim the fascia so you can get a tighter fit. It's still possible certain situations will require you to use caution when going up a steep incline but this hitch will be best to reduce this chance.
