Why Are Fixed Hitches Not Available for 2020 Volvo V60

Question:
My question is basically why the Stealth hitch is the only one available for the newer Volvos. Is there any reason the hitch cannot be left on permanently? Asking because if it has to be taken off when not being used, Volvo makes an automatically retractable one more convenient, but $$$. But if it can be left on, why does no one make a simple permanent hitch, like for the older Volvos.

The reason lies with both the popularity of the vehicle as well as the ability of the hitch manufacturers to obtain vehicles for test fitting. The hitch manufacturers are having difficulty obtaining vehicles for hitch fit testing, due to the high demand for vehicles following the onset of the pandemic. This is especially true for higher end vehicles like Volvos.
The receiver tube portion, which is the only attachment included with the # SH47FR is intended only for use with hitch mounted accessories. The # SH47FR includes both the receiver tube for attachments as well as the ball mount which is used for towing, as well as the 7-way trailer wiring harness and connector.
Stealth HIGHLY recommends that the ball mount or receiver tube be removed when not in use, but if you wish to leave it in place, they recommend it be removed once a month or so and both the portion of the receiver tube or the ball mount that locks into the stainless block of the hitch be cleaned and lubricated with white lithium grease to prevent corrosion. Over time, the powder coat on the shank of the receiver or ball mount gets abraded and can form rust. If this happens, the receiver or ball mount can become stuck in the receiver if its not regularly cleaned and lubricated.
The # SH67FR you'd looked at is a fit for the V90, and wouldn't fit your vehicle.
