You don’t have to sacrifice looks to add utility. The concealed cross tube sits behind the bumper, leaving only the 2" x 2" receiver visible underneath. That means you get a clean, factory-style appearance instead of a bulky hitch hanging below the rear end. It also keeps ground clearance better than a standard exposed hitch.
This hitch is made from a unique combination of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel alloy that’s both lightweight and durable. The materials are recycled, so manufacturing leaves a smaller carbon footprint. The black powder coat finish adds another layer of protection against corrosion while keeping the hitch looking good after years of use.
Whether you’re pulling a small trailer or loading up a couple of heavy bikes, the Class II rating gives you room to do it safely. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 300 lbs, it’s built for light towing, cargo carriers, and bike racks without limiting your options to smaller accessories.
Installing this hitch doesn’t require special tools or permanent changes to the vehicle. It bolts onto existing mounting points on the frame—no drilling or welding needed. The straightforward bolt-on design makes it practical for anyone who wants to handle the install at home with basic tools.

I’m very happy with the trailer hitch. I use it weekly with a rack to haul my dirtbike. I also used the hitch with a small U-Haul trailer when moving. The corrosion resistance seems fairly good, the trailer hitch is not rusting even though it’s constantly bombarded with rocks driving down gravel roads. I’m very happy with it and still highly recommend it.

In the installation notes through our fit guide we mention that fascia trimming is required. If you have a front-Wheel drive model, trimming the underbody panel for hitch installation is required too.

After a year, no issues. Even with daily use Thule XT2. My town has installed many large speed bumps, humps and tables. Some are aggressive and I havent hit the tongue or my carrier and I doubt it will, so good clearance on departure.

I sent the details of your review over to the manufacturer to see their response. They said they were unaware of any clearance issue with this for your 2018 Honda HR-V. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly what the issue is without them physically having it. It could be an issue of a simple bend in the hitch from shipping and handling. We have a help article about this that I will attach. Or it could be a small difference in the passenger and drivers side on the vehicle. He said if you are unhappy with the hitch, you can send it back to the factory and they can send you out a new one. However, if it is a slight difference in the vehicle, then you may have a difficult install ahead of you again.
