Tongue Weight/Bike Carrying Capacity of Stealth SH47FR Hitch on 2021 Volvo V60
Published 07/22/2021 >
Question:
Hi guys just installed this on my V60. Is the hitch sturdy enough to carry 4 bikes or I need to stick to 2 bikes. I have a Kuat NV2.0. For now, I removed the 2 bike extension. BTW your shipping was fast. Very satisfied! Thx!

The Stealth # SH47FR 2 inch hitch you ordered has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity that ITSELF would be able to handle the weight of the rack and bikes, but you'll want to make sure that the the vehicle itself can handle that. I was unable to find any information in the online copy of the owner's manual regarding the towing capacity, so I'd advise you to touch base with your Volvo dealer to determine the vehicle's tongue weight capacity, which represents the maximum amount of downward force that can safely be applied to the hitch.
Most vehicle manufacturers will list the vehicle's tongue weight capacity as 10% of the towing capacity. I found an unconfirmed reference to the V60 towing capacity as being 2000 lbs, which would possibly put the tongue weight capacity at 200 lbs so I'd consider checking with the dealer a must.
If you're limited to 200 lbs, you could use the NV 2.0 by itself to carry two bikes, or with the add-on if the 90 lb weight of the rack + the add on don't exceed 200 lbs.
