Required Negative Offset to Fit Oversize Tires on Timbren Axle-Less System ASR5200S03
Updated 03/16/2022 | Published 03/14/2022 >
Question:
For the timbren ASR5200S03 axles, do they have an option to use a longer spindle? Id like to fit a max tire size of 37x12.5 on there for an offroad trailer Im building. If not, what would be the recommended negative offset for aftermarket wheels? The tires I would pick would be rated for the load

The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle w/ Brake Flange - 5,200 lbs # TASR5200S03 is going to be your only option from Timbren to replace a 5,200 lb axle and have the 4" drop. Unfortunately there is no option for a different spindle for larger tires at this capacity.
The distance from the hub face to the trailer frame with these installed is going to be 6-11/16". You will want to check for your particular tires since it varies but it looks like the section width on most 37 x 12.5 tires is around 13".
Assuming it is right at 13" that means 6-1/2" of tire will be on the inside leaving you with 3/16" of clearance. Since you want 2" of clearance you would need a negative offset equivalent to make that happen. You will need an offset of 1-13/16" to get this much clearance which would be 46 mm.
