Question:

I am going to change the breaks on my boat trailer from hydraulic actuating to electric. I currently have Titan brand hubs and would like to put Dexter never a just brakes on it. It has 10in drums and 2 1/4in brake pads. What other information do I need for proper fitment of the new bearings on the spindles? It has the standard 2 7/8 holes for the brake backing plate.

You will want to confirm but the Titan hubs on your boat trailer could possibly be compatible with electric brakes. You will want to inspect the inner surface. If it is flat and smooth you can use it for electric brakes. For your brakes you are going to want the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K item # 23-468-469. These 10" x 2-1/4" Driver's-side and passenger's-side electric trailer brake assemblies fit 3,500-lb axles. They also have a mounting flange bolt hole distance of 2-7/8" apart on center.

You will also need a 7-way connector and wiring to run electric brakes on your trailer. I recommend using the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector item # HS381-9000. This weatherproof, heavy-duty plastic junction box protects wires and terminals from the elements. It allows you to consolidate all of your trailer wiring connections and has a 7-way connector. You will also want to use Jacketed 2 Wire (Brake Wire) - 12 Gauge - per Foot item # 12-2-1 to wire up your brakes.
