You can convert your trailer to electric over hydraulic brakes by using hydraulic trailer brakes, hydraulic drums, hydraulic brake lines, and adding an electric over hydraulic actuator like the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Drum Brakes # HBA-10. You will also need a brake away kit like Hopkins Engager # 20400.

The benifits of electric over hydraulic brakes are you get the increased braking strength that hydraulic brakes are known for, but with the smoothness of electric brakes due to the brake controller.

The system works by having hydraulic brakes and drums with brake lines running to the electric over hydraulic actuator # HBA-10. The trailer brake wiring will go to the actuator and when you apply the brakes or manual override on your trailer brake controller the brake signal will get sent to the actuator which will apply the hydraulic brakes.

To convert your trailer to a electric over hydraulic brake system I will need to know the axle capacity, and which inner and outer bearings your current hub uses so I can recommend all the correct components.
