Question:

Hi, I am interested in Item # e98864, a hitch for a 2018 RAV4. I watched the install video, which was helpful. I do have one question, at 2:30 in the video, it shows removal of a plastic tray on the drivers side prior to installation. It does not show the tray being reinstalled after the hitch is in. Does the plastic tray get bolted back in or does it need to be cut or modified after the hitch is installed? Thanks.

Good question, and the panel you are referring to does get reinstalled on your 2018 Toyota RAV4 when installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98864.

You will trim a small section of it (as shown in the cut out below), and the same push pins and nut that were holding it in will be used to reinstall the panel. So just be a bit careful with the push pins when prying them out and after trimming the small section you can put it back on after the # e98864 in fully installed.

And in the interest of being thorough I also wanted to mention that if you plan to use the hitch for towing with your 2018 RAV4 and need a wiring harness, the correct fit is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118578.
