Question:

I have a enclosed trailer that I would like to add a 12v Marine or similar battery to. Want to be able to charge it and not drain the truck battery when using the lights in the trailer. What products do I need?

What you need is the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Single Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 12 Amp # RED96FR. This will allow you to pull power from the vehicle battery to charge your auxiliary battery on your trailer. The fault recognition technology prevents damage to batteries from voltage spikes, overheating, and reverse polarity connection.

It also has a battery isolator function to prevent the charger from pulling power when the vehicle is off so you won't drain your truck battery. The multi-stage charging algorithm ensures a complete charge on secondary battery without overcharging.
