Roadmaster MX base plates are designed to only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide directly into a hitch opening. MX base plates will not work with a tow bar that requires a hitch ball. Yes, the Roadmaster MX base plates, part # 4405-3, will work with the Falcon 2 tow bar. Almost every set of base plates will require you to drill on the frame of your car. The difference between the, part # 4405-1, and the MX plates, part # 4405-3, is apparent in the attachment point to the tow bar. If you look at the attachment on the MX plates, it almost looks like a U-shaped docking station, while the XL plates are flat, upright, and have two holes. If you already have the Falcon 2 tow bar, part # RM-520, I would go with the MX base plates, part # 4405-3.
