Troubleshooting Kwikee Steps That Retract When the Door Opens and Extend When The Door Closes

Question:

My husband has installed a single step Kwikee but when the door opens the steps go in and when its closed they go out. Can you help solve this problem.

Expert Reply:

It sounds like the door sensor is not correct for the control box on your Kwikee Step. With a Kwikee Step like the # LC3747452 there are 2 different door sensors. You will have a white(normally closed) sensors and black(normally open) sensors. All the newer steps will use black sensors so if you may have reused an older white sensor it would need to be replaced. Here are a couple of the black and white sensors that we carry.
