Difference Between MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent and MaxxFan Roof Vent

Updated 07/15/2020 | Published 02/18/2019

Question:

Hi. Can you tell me the difference between the Maxxfan 00A0440K and theMaxxfan Mini 00-04401M? Is the mini a lower profile. From what I can tell they are both 4 speed, manual close, exhaust only, and no rain sensor.

The difference between the MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent # MA00-04401M and the MaxxFan Roof Vent # MA00A04401K does indeed simply have to do with its profile. The MaxxAir Mini Roof Vent will only extend 2-7/8 inches above the roof when it's closed compared to 4-1/4 inches on the standard model.

The MaxxFan Mini will also work with a thinner RV/Camper roof as it is compatible with roof thicknesses of 1 inch to 6-1/2 inches (compared to 2 inches to 6-1/2 inches on the standard unit).

As you mentioned, both models have 4 speed options, a manual lift, exhaust operation, and will fit a 14 inch x 14 inch opening. Neither unit comes with a rain sensor.

I have attached a video review on each of these assemblies that you can check out as well.

Apparently there is a prob with eTrailer’s server today :~( What my follow-up question is: if the 4401M and 4401K are Only differentiated by profile/height on roof side, why would Anyone go with the higher profile 4401K ?? Airxcel, the parent company has ZERO Customer Support. I guess they are ‘too big’ to care. Amazon is Littered with ERRORS. You folks seem to be the only ones who ANSWER, so ...... ?

That's a really good question. There's truly no difference, performance-wise, between the Mini # MA00-04401M and MaxxFan # MA00A04401K, so I honestly don't see a reason not to go with the smaller unit. A reason both might exist at this point is that the Mini version DID come out after the standard (actually somewhat recently).
