For a hitch for towing with your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98912. This is a Class III hitch that uses a 2" receiver. It has a square-tube design and a concealed cross tube to help maintain a factory look. What sets this hitch apart from others is the matte black powder coat finish. This gives it a rugged look while hiding dirt and scratches better than a glossy finish.
For wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. When it comes to a wiring harness Tekonsha is the most reliable. This plugs directly into existing wiring and provides you with a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights.
If you also need a ball mount, the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 is a great choice. This kit comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, along with a ball mount bag for storage.
I have attached some review and installation videos that you can check out.
