Recommended Hitch And Bike Rack For Carrying 2 E-Bikes On A 2021 Mazda CX-5

Question:
I need to get a bike rack for our 2 ebikes and a hitch to carry them. I don't particularly like the look of hitches, so I prefer one that is mostly hidden when we aren't using it. I was originally looking at a trunk rack, but realized there is no way they can handle the weight of our bikes (about 60 pounds each). What all do you recommend?

You are correct in that a trunk mount rack will not be a good option for your e-bikes due to their carrying capacity. With that said, installing a hitch on your 2021 Mazda CX-5 will definitely be the better way to go. As your CX-5 will have a 350 to 525 max tongue weight capacity (check your owner's manual for your specific capabilities), I recommend going with the etrailer.com # e98902. This is an American made hitch and will have a max tongue weight capacity of 600 pounds. This will be limited to your vehicle's max capacity, but once installed, you will only see the receiver (picture included). So it will be a nice hidden hitch.
With your e-bikes being on the heavy side and this hitch having good carrying capacity, I can highly recommend the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # TH903202. This is rated to carry 2 bikes weighing up to 65 pounds a piece, has no issues with odd or step through style frames, and even includes a ramp for easy loading of the bikes that stores on the rack. Though this is an expensive rack, it has about every bell and whistle you could possible want. It is highly recommended.
