Recommended Hitch For Carrying A Bike Rack On A 2022 Chevy Equinox

I am looking at putting a hitch on my new 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and saw that there are 2 different Curt models. The one has the larger opening and higher capacity, but I don't think my Equinox can handle that kind of weight. Is it better to go with the smaller one? I will be using it for a bike rack to carry our 2 bikes and wont be towing with it at all.

Unless your 2022 Chevy Equinox has the 2.0L Gas Engine with V92 Trailering Provisions, which is rated for 3,505 pounds towing, all other options will be rated to 1,500 pounds towing. The tongue weight capacity for all versions, including the 2.0L with the V92 package, will be 350 pounds, so both the Curt Class III # C77FR with the 2" receiver and the Class II # C98CR with the 1-1/4" receiver will be limited to these capacities.
With that being said, the Class III 2" receiver on the # C77FR will allow for more options for accessories, like bike racks and cargo carriers. If it were me, I'd go with the # C77FR due to this.
