Can 2 inch Hitch Ball be Install in Rise Position for Curt Towing Starter Kit
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a 2021 Tesla Model Y 2 inch receiver hitch already factory installed. Im planning on towing a small u_haul trailer. load no more that 1,000 lbs. The video said he recommends the ball to be installed on the 3/4 Rise, not the side. can the ball mount be installed on the 3/4 inch rise? and I need a 7-pin connector to a 4 pin flat coupler.

Yes, the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534 will come with the hitch ball mounted for the 2" drop but you can definitely remove it, flip the ball mount to the 3/4" rise position, and then reinstall the hitch ball.
If your 2021 Tesla Model Y has the 7-Way and the trailer has the 4-Way then you'll need the Pollak Adapter # PK12716, but if your Model Y has the 4-Way and the trailer has the 7-Way then you'll need to use an adapter like the Curt # C57672 which can be secured to your hitch using the No-Drill Bracket # C57202. Please note that if the trailer has the 7-Way you'll need to make sure that the trailer only uses the light functions and doesn't require a brake controller or other functions (I believe all of the U-Haul rental trailers use a surge brake system though).
