Ball Mount Recommendation for Trailer Needing 4 inches of Rise
Updated 06/23/2020 | Published 06/22/2020 >
Question:
Hello. I’m am emailing to confirm the hitch rise needed for my vehicle. The top square of my vehicles hitch is 18 inches odd the ground. The top of the trailer ball mount is 23 inches. Does that mean I need a 5 inch rise to sit level? Also if my pickup bed is loaded and the vehicle is already squatting an inch or so, will that mean I need a higher rise if I plan to add the trailer? Thanks

You are really close to getting the correct rise drop but on the trailer side you measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler lip instead. So you'd most likely have about 21 inches on that side compared to the 18 inches on the vehicle and would need 3 inch of rise. But if you are squatting that much I'd compensate with the ball mount if at all possible. So for that the Curt ball mount part # C45070 is a really great option as it has 4 inches of rise.
