Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 with 7-Way
Published 11/22/2021 >
Question:
I need a trailer brake controller for my 2004 3500 dodge ram. It has a 7 way factory plug on the back, does this imply that it has the correct plug under dash for a controller to plug into ? I have unused plug under the steering column with for large male spade connectors in it, is this the plug for the controller ?

Expert Reply:
Since you have a 7-way at the rear of your 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 and you have found the connector under the dash you do have the needed wiring to easily install a brake controller like the Redarc Tow Pro Elite part # RED44FR that you referenced. All you need is the install harness part # 3020-S and you'd be set. This will wire color for color to the controller and once plugged in is wired up.
