Question:

I have a 2022 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab short bed w/ Cummins diesel. I'd like to install front hitch and winch. What size winch would my truck require and is there a front hitch that will work? Any help would be appreciated.

For your 2022 Ram 2500 I recommend the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C31089. This hitch has a 9,000lb Line Pull capacity, 500lb Vertical load capacity, and a Gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000lbs. The receiver tube is the only visible portion of this trailer hitch for a sleek hidden design.

For the winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 9,800lbs # BDW66FR. This winch has a higher weight capacity than your front mounted hitch but you will be restricted to the lower 9,000lb capacity of your hitch. This setup is ideal for winching a stuck vehicle out with your truck, but due to the limitations of the hitch I do not recommend using it for winching out your Ram 2500 as you will be above the 9,000lb limit.

I also recommend the Bulldog Winch Front Wiring Kit - Quick Connect to Terminal End - 2 Gauge - 7-1/2' Long # BDW20205 which will allow you to quickly and easily provide power to your winch and remove it when not needed.
