Helper Spring Recommendation for a 2022 Toyota 4Runner Towing a Trailer

Question:

Is there anything other than air bags that I can install on my 2022 Toyota 4Runner to help out when I'm towing a trailer? I don't like the thought of having to check air lines.

When it comes to products to install on your 2022 Toyota 4Runner that are low maintenance, look no further than the Timbren Kit # TTORSEQ. This installs in place of your OEM bump stop and can help with up to 6,000 lbs of weight (although it doesn't increase the weight rating of your vehicle). Once these are installed you can virtually forget that they are there. I have attached a photo and installation video of this kit on a 2012 4Runner for you to get an idea of what the finished product will look like.

Something else to keep in mind is that when a trailer weighs more than half the curb (unloaded) weight of the tow vehicle then a weight distribution system (WDS) is recommended and will actually do a better job at fixing the sag then something like the Timbrens would do. A WDS will help keep the towing setup level and will help prevent sway as well. Double check that your trailer hitch is rated for WDS and then you can choose an appropriate one from our linked selection.
