Question:
A follow-up to a previous customer inquiry. I have a 2021 Kia Telluride with the factory tow package with pre-wired 7 pin connector and the Kia Factory Brake Control Harness pictured. In Mike L.s answer to Jennifer F. he said that the only additional component needed was the # RED69FR pigtail, which would connect to the factory harness color for color.inch This was in relation to using the Redarc Liberty controller, item # RED24FR When I look at the information for the RED69FR it states that the RED69FR inch Universal wiring harness allows you to install the Tow-Pro brake controller in your Kia Telluride WITHOUT a factory tow package. Plug one end of the harness into the brake controller and the other end splices into your Kia Tellurides wiring. Since I have the tow package, could you clarify whether I need the RED69FR or not? I am ordering the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite controller, rather than the Liberty , Item # RED44FR. Thanks in advance.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR only needs to be purchased separately for the # RED24FR. You will, however, still use this wiring harness for installation.
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR comes with the wiring harness. You will need to splice the wiring harness into your vehicle wiring, and then plug the end directly into the main unit. Unfortunately, there is not a plug-and-play wiring harness available for your 2021 Kia Telluride with the factory tow package.
I have attached an installation video on a similar SUV along with with a review video for your reference.
