Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line

Question:

Will this hitch for a 2022 R-line? I looked underneath the car and there is a plastic splash shield right in the center. Does the shield require removal or trimming?

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # C13381 will fit all options for the VW Tiguan in the 2022 model year, including the R-Line. This is also a pretty simple and straight forward install requiring no drilling to complete. I included a link to an install we did on a 2020 Tiguan for you to check out as well, but we haven't had the chance to install a hitch on a 2022 R-Line as of yet.

From what I could see of the underside and back of the vehicle, which I will admit wasn't a whole lot, and what I got from Curt, there should be no trimming or removal of panels needed for the install. However, with the 2022 R-Line being as new as it is, this panel may be something new that didn't appear before, so there is a chance it will need to be trimmed or removed for the install.
