etrailer Trailer Jack - TJA-2001-B

Highlights

  • Low-Clearance Ready: 5-1/8" retracted height fits tight spaces and garages with limited room.
  • 2,000-Lb Lift Strength: Handles moderate trailer tongue weight for steady support when loading or storing.
  • 14-1/4" Lift: Wide lift range makes leveling or coupling quick on uneven or sloped ground.
  • Built to Last: Black powder-coat outer tube and zinc topwind handle resist rust and weather wear.
  • Secure Crank Action: Bolt-head fastener keeps the handle firmly attached while raising or lowering.
  • Flexible Mounting: Works with bolt-on or weld-on A-frame brackets; footplate or caster sold separately.

Features to know about

More Ground Clearance: Low-Profile Design Stays Out of Harm’s Way

Dragging a jack over curbs, dips, or driveways is a sure way to bend a tube or scuff the finish. This round A-frame trailer jack tucks up tight with a retracted bracket height of just 5-1/8", keeping the tube nearly flush with the frame. It’s one of the shortest A-frame jacks available, so you gain the clearance needed to tow without scraping on low spots. The black powder coat and zinc-finished topwind handle hold up well against the road grime and weather that normally tear other jacks down.

Smooth, Effortless Cranking: Enclosed Gearbox and Secure Handle

You can feel the difference when you spin the handle on this jack. The internal gearbox turns cleanly under load, and the bolt-head fastener keeps the 6-1/2" radius handle locked in place while you work. That means steady lifting and lowering without wobble or handle slip. Whether you add a footplate or wheel later, it’s easy to raise or lower a trailer smoothly to the exact height you need.

Built to Last: Heavy-Duty Steel with Corrosion Protection

Every part of this 2,000 lb-capacity jack is engineered for repeated use in the real world. The black powder-coated outer tube resists rust, while the zinc-plated inner tube keeps the sliding action smooth even after long exposure to rain and road salt. The topwind arm’s zinc finish adds another layer of protection where hands and tools meet metal. Over time, it stays cleaner, cranks easier, and keeps its finish far better than uncoated steel.

Easy Fitment and Quick Install: Standard A-Frame Mounting Pattern

Swapping out an old or damaged jack takes just a few minutes thanks to the 3" on-center mounting hole pattern and dual bolt-on or weld-on options. At just 9 lbs, it’s light enough to handle solo but sturdy enough for regular hitching and storage. The 14-1/4" lift gives plenty of adjustment for leveling, loading, or tongue support, making this jack a straightforward upgrade that simply works every time.

The jack that was installed originally on my trailer extended too far below the frame, so that it hit the ground on uneven terrain, especially when leaving the roadway and entering parking lots. This product has much more clearance. It completely fixed the problem.

This jack is still working fine, Ive had no problems with it.

by:

I've had 4 jacks on my trailer and this one is the best, by miles!

by:

The jack was delivered fast. (Four buisness days). It fit the trailer perfectly. All the bolt holes lined up good.

by:

The "A" frame plate on my '99 Jayco pop up was bent and needed replacing. I took it to a welding shop and had a new plate welded in for the now standard 2 1/4 " hole. I ordered this replacement jack (TJA-2001-B) because it was the closest matching jack (re-tractability) and the best price that would do the job. I also got a drop leg (JF-1005H-Z) so I would no longer need the large wooden block when parking my camper. Thank you etrailer for being there to answer questions.

Been working great. Always get good advise and products from these guys. Thank You

by:

Great price, heavier than the one I rep laced.

by:

This jack has performed perfectly over the past year. I've used it several times with my pop-up camper, hauling that from Tennessee to Utah and Tennessee to Florida. It fit and worked as advertised without any hiccup. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

by:

This jack was everything I needed it to be. Thanks

by:

Exactly what I needed and such a unique product

by:

Smooth operation, great fit excellent j ob!

by:

Tammie an E Trailer crew are great, perfect fit matches the old one, now if I can remember to slow down an crank it up before driving off, lol, I have pictures of the jack an the perfect match hitch on the Saturn I forgot to put on here

by:

I bought this to replace the one that came with my trailer after it got caught on the sidewalk and BENT. This winds up much tighter and sticks out less, so that won't happen again. It was easy to install and has worked great.

Works good, great replacment for old jack on vintage camper with low clearance.

by:

Needed a replacement trailer jack for our Boy Scout trailer, as the internal cylinder was bent on the old one, making the cranking very difficult. Took about 10 minutes to swap out the old jack and put in this new one. Works like a charm. Very easy to do. Also added the footplate. Highly recommend this jack and footplate.

by:

Arrived on time. I needed a jack withlow retracted height so it wouldn't drag over rough terrain. Fits my horse trailer tongue perfectly

by:

Great replacement for my vintage camper that had a jack hole of only 1 7/8 inches. I used a hole saw to enlarge the holes on both the top and bottom plates of the A-frame to 2 3/8 inches and this jack slipped right in. For jack hardware, use 3/8" 16 tpi self drilling screws or use a long bolt through both the top and bottom plates of the A-frame if you have both top and bottom plates. Make the screw holes 5/16" (1/16" smaller than the self-drilling screws). I mention all this because it took me a long time to figure this all out and I hope it helps someone. My camper needs to get both really low and really high, so I added a foot extension to get it higher and am happy with the combination.

by:

Oh my goodness its perfect thank you so much Abby and everyone I'm leaving Monday camping So happy found correct replacement

by:

The jack is just what I needed. I will retract completely up and out of harm’s way while maneuvering over uneven terrain.

by:

I bought this jack to replace the factory jack on a 5 x 8 enclosed trailer so I could have more ground clearance . It is made of sturdy material, was easy to install, and works terrific.!

by:

The part is great and works well. It should last a long time because now it will not hit the ground all the time. I wish shipping was not so expensive. Maybe you could lower your cost by putting smaller items in smaller packages? It seams to me the box was three times larger than it needed to be.

by:

Great Jack it gives more clearance underneath than the original one did

by:

Easy to install, only took 15 minutes. You will need your old hardware since it doesn't come with any. Shipping was quick and it was packaged very well.

by:

I can’t say enough about etrailer. UPS delivered a box with no jack. I called etrailer and they made sure I got the jack I ordered. Great service. If I need another they will be my only choice.

by:

Three bolts and done. Will raise as high as I need it to.

Glad we had what you were looking for, Thad! What are you hauling in your utility trailer?

by:

I'm using this jack for my 13ft 1959 camper (1300lbs) & it's exactly what I needed. It's simple & straightforward, but designed well enough to be out of the way of the cargo door on my suv. Adding a trailer jack swivel wheel or landing plate is a good idea.

by:

Perfect drop-in replacement for the original jack on my 2015 Aliner Ranger 10. It does exactly what I needed. Giving me more clearance when moving the camper and making it easier to get the caster wheel back on when setting up the camper. Shipping was very fast.

  • Recommendation for an A-Frame Jack with a Lower Retracted Height Than 8 Inches
Good news, I can help you find an A-frame jack that has a lower retracted height than 8 inches. One of the lowest retracted height A frame jacks I was able to find is our part # TJA-2001-B. This jack has a retracted height of 5-1/8 inches. I was also able to find 2 jacks in the 5 inch range. The ProSeries # PS1401000303 has a retracted height of 5-1/2 inches and the wheel recommended for it is the # PS1400750340. Or Bulldog # BD155033 which has a retracted of 5-3/8 inches and the recommended...

  • Replacement for RAM 2000 Series Tongue Jack
Hi Bill; is this an A-frame jack? The 2000 series indicates the capacity more than anything. We do have the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack # TJA-2001-B which is the same as the Ram TJA-2001-B. This has a total lift of 14-1/4" and a 2,000 lb capacity. If you have a different style jack, or need a different lift, let me know in the comments below.

  • Recommended 5,000lb Topwind Trailer Jack Replacement
The Buyers Products A-Frame Jack w/ Support Foot # 3370091265 is going to be the best bolt-on option based on your requirements. This topwind jack has a 5,000lb capacity and up to 15" of travel so you'll have almost twice as much travel as you need. It also comes with a rectangular foot plate that easily pins in place to spread the weight a bit more evenly. Since the footplate uses a simple pin and clip you can also swap it out with a wheel or drop leg to fit your needs.

  • Can I Add a Caster Wheel to the RAM TJA-2001-B Trailer Jack?
Hey Gaetano. Yes, I have something that will help. The Ram Removable, 6" Poly Caster Assembly for 2" Jack Tube - 1,200lbs # JC-101 will attach to the # TJA-2001-B so you can scoot the trailer around after disconnecting. The jack has a 2" tube and a 1,200lb capacity. Just a heads up, this will reduce the jacks capacity to the 1,200lbs when you have it connected. Also, be sure to remove the wheel before towing. What trailer are you hoping to add this to?

  • A-Frame Trailer Jack Operation and Tongue Weight
From what you told me it sounds like the foot on your trailer jack, like part # TJA-2001-B, doesn't leave the ground until you have the tongue weight of the trailer supported. Since the purpose of an A-Frame trailer jack is to support the tongue weight of the trailer if you don't have anything else supporting the tongue weight of your trailer it will naturally go down as the foot retracts into the jack. When your trailer is parked and uncoupled it is always best to leave the foot of your...
