Question:

I want to install a light set on the roof of my F350 when hauling electric bikes with a hitch mounted rack and a cover on the bikes. The tail lights are completely covered. Need the height dimension to determine if the truck will fit in my garage without damaging the lights. I have about 5 inches clearance. ALSO, since my new electric bikes are longer than standard bikes, they definitely cover the tail lights especially when using a bike cover. This appears to be a hazard that is largely ignored. Does placing the lights on the roof create an acceptable solution?

The Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR is an acceptable solution if your tail lights are blocked as these lights provide stop, left/right turn signals, as well hazard functionality; additionally, these lights are approximately 6.9 inches tall.

Additionally, you may want to try the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201 which are specifically designed for this.
