The best hitch option for your 2022 Ford Transit Connect is the Curt part # C13167 as it's a 2 inch hitch which means it has better towing capacities and is the hitch that most accessories are made for like bike racks/cargo carriers.
If you plan to do some towing yes you would need trailer wiring, but if you didn't have plans to tow it would not be needed. The best trailer wiring kit would be the # 118613.
