Currently, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C98BR is the only confirmed fitting hitch for a 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. It is a no-drill, bolt-on installation and comes complete with hardware kit and installation instructions included.
If you also need trailer brake wiring for hauling a trailer, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118808 which is a simple plug-and-play installation. I also recommend using some Dielectric Grease # 11755 on your 4-pole flat connector to prevent dirt/debris from interfering with the connection or causing corrosion.
If you use your hitch for a bike rack or a cargo carrier, you will also need a stabilizer strap like the # 18050.
For a ball mount I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 1-1/4" Hitches # C45147. It is a starter kit with everything you need to start towing your trailer. It has a 1-1/4" drop and 3/4" rise and is rated for up to 3,500lbs GTW and 350 TW. If you have a larger height difference then I highly recommend reading through the attached help guide article to determine to the correct rise or drops for your needs.
