Add More Ways to Haul Gear: Class I 1-1/4" Receiver for Light-Duty Towing

When you just need a little more hauling capability, this Class I hitch gets the job done. With a 2,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight, it’s a solid match for small trailers, cargo carriers, or bike racks. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube gives you the flexibility to mount all kinds of light-duty accessories. It’s an easy way to turn everyday drives into trips that carry a bit more.

Install It Yourself Without the Hassle: Custom Fit and Bolt-On Design

This hitch is designed for a custom fit with precision, robotic welding that lines up perfectly with existing attachment points. The bolt-on installation means no welding is required, and all hardware is included. You can take care of it right in your driveway with basic tools, following the included instructions or watching install videos if you want extra help. It’s made for do-it-yourself installs that feel straightforward from start to finish.

Built Strong to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Gloss Black Powder Coat

The sturdy square-tube design and fully welded steel construction make this hitch tough enough for years of use. The gloss black powder coat sits over a protective base coat to fend off rust and corrosion, keeping it looking good and strong in all kinds of weather. The open-back receiver tube makes cleaning out dirt or debris quick and simple after towing or hauling trips.

Keep a Clean Look: Concealed Cross Tube Design

Nobody wants a bulky hitch hanging low under the bumper. The concealed cross tube gives this setup a neat, integrated appearance once installed. It stays tucked up and out of sight so the only thing visible is the compact receiver opening, maintaining a clean finish while still giving you all the utility of a trailer hitch.

by:

Relatively simple installation. Directions could be better.

Once I got the right hitch it's been great! I carry my bike all the time and the receiver has been perfect, with no issues. Just double check that you have the right hitch for the exact model of car you have.

This is an excellent product that fit my 2026 Mazda 3 perfectly. Install was very simple. I followed the instructional video on the etrailer YouTube channel during install. Every step was just like the video showed. The photos attached to my review show three angles up underneath after install, one image shows the rear view after it was fully mounted, and the final photo shows a photo with my recumbent bike rack on my new car.

  • Is The Curt Hitch Or The Draw-Tite Hitch Better For A 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan?
Hi Cameron! For your 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan, I prefer the Curt # C44DR over the Draw-Tite # 24982. They are almost identical and have the same weight capacities, but Curt is made in America and Draw-Tite is not. This pretty much always pushed me to the Curt hitches. Plus I have just found them to be nicer. When we installed the Curt on a 25 Mazda 3 Sedan, we found the hitch height to be 12" (measured from the ground to the inside top of the receiver opening). We haven't had the chance to...

  • How Much Does The Curt Hitch C44DR For A 2025 Mazda 3 Weigh?
Good question JB. I checked and it looks like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C44DR weighs just over 28 pounds. In case you also needed to know, this is designed to fit a 2019 to 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan and I included a picture of what it will look like once installed. Were you wondering how much weight you would be adding to the back of your car?

  • Trailer Hitch For A 2022 Mazda 3 Sedan
Hi George! The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C44DR will indeed fit your 2022 Mazda 3 sedan. It will actually fit 2019 to 2026 Mazda 3 Sedans, so you are good to go! This is an American made hitch and I included an install video with this being installed on a 2025 Mazda 3 as it will be the same for your 2022. What are you planning on using the hitch for?

  • Difference Between Curt Hitches for 2019 Mazda 3
Hey Don! The difference between these two Curt hitches is the fitment. The # C44DR fits the sedan and the # C98BR fits the hatchback. You will need to choose based on which Mazda 3 model you have. What do you plan on using the hitch for?

  • Does EcoHitch for 2024 Mazda 3 Sedan Come with Instructions
Hey Andrew, so EcoHitch does not like to offer online versions of their instructions, which is pretty annoying, but the hitch definitely does come with a printed set that are easy to follow. The best solution I can offer you right now would be to check out the install instructions for the Curt hitch # C44DR that also fits your 2024 Mazda 3 sedan that I attached to this page

  • Does Curt Hitch C44DR Fit 2024 Mazda 3 Sedan
While Curt doesn't have the hitch # C44DR as a fit we were able to confirm this by comparing the fits of the other brand hitches. So we do know that it does fit the 2024 Mazda 3 Sedan.

  • Does Curt Hitch C44DR Fit 2023 Mazda 3 Sedan
Hey Paul, yes the Curt hitch part # C44DR that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2023 Mazda 3 sedan.

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring Harness for a 2019 Mazda 3 Sedan
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C44DR is confirmed to fit your 2019 Mazda 3 sedan and it does have the capacity to pull your 650 lbs jet ski trailer. I just looked at your Mazda's owners manual and your max towing capacity is the same as this hitch at 2,000 lbs. You will also need a wiring harness to control your trailer's lights. I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118808. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your...

  • What Is The Highest Capacity Trailer Hitch For The 2024 Mazda 3?
The highest capacity hitch that we offer for the 2024 Mazda 3 is going to be the Curt Class 1 Hitch # C44DR. This hitch has a 1-1/4" receiver and is rated for 2,000 lbs towing or 200 lbs of tongue weight. The Mazda 3 Sedan really is not designed for towing anything too heavy, so the class 1 hitch is going to be the highest rated hitch available.
