Question:
I have a 2020 Jayco Precept 31UL and I need something to improve my suspension quality. I have been going back and forth from the sumo springs and timbren system but not sure which will give me the better ride. Can you explain the differences between these systems?

While both the SumoSprings and Timbren springs work to achieve a better and safer suspension system their construction give them some defining differences. I have included the parts in my comparison below for your 2020 Jayco Precept Motorhome.
The SumoSprings Front # SSF-170-40-2 and Rear # SSR-180-54-1 are the ones that I prefer to use the most. The microcellular urethane construction of these springs provides a smoother ride as it soaks up the bumps and road shock. You still get added support that will increase as the springs are compressed to provide a stable ride. Best of all these are made in the USA and carry a lifetime warranty.
The Timbren Springs Front # TFFF53B and Rear # TFRF53A do provide more support than the SumoSprings with their hollow rubber springs. The assemblies are also smaller and less prone to damage from any road hazards that they may come into contact with. The only thing I do not like with these is they are less forgiving with road shock. I tend to only recommend these for motorhomes that will do a lot of heavy trailer hauling. The Timbren system will provide better support when loaded with more weight but you sacrifice ride quality when unloaded as the springs tend to deflect more than they absorb.
