Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit On Curt C56158 Installed On 2013 Honda CR-V Not Working

I have a 2013 Honda CR-V EX that I previously installed the the Curt wire harness #C56158. Currently all lights work brake, signal, flasher, but the running lights no longer work. I opened up the car panels and verified the fuse is intact. I originally mounted the ground wire to the vehicles grounding stud and verified that is still a solid connection and made sure it is tight. Is there a chance that the converter box is bad? I made sure that the square plugs do not have bent wires preventing the pins from making contact with the purple vehicle plugs. I tried moving the ground wire and there were no change in light function. I dont have any type of tester or knowledge where to test the vehicle, but the vehicle running lights do work. I am tempted to buy the Hopkins harness #HM11143274 to see if that works. Nevertheless, the running lights worked on the trailer when originally installed just over 1 year ago.

I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the running light circuit of the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56158 not working on your 2013 Honda CR-V EX.

It sounds like you have gone through most of the troubleshooting steps so I recommend getting a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and with the headlights of your vehicle turned on test the brown wire coming into the module, and then the brown wire coming out of the module on the 4-way connector. If you have power coming in but not coming out then the issue is the module and the entire harness will need to be replaced.

The harness has a 1-year warranty so that period has passed since you mentioned the harness is over 1 year old, so for a replacement I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118561 as we have found the Tekonsha branded harnesses to be the most durable and long lasting harnesses currently available and as such they have become a favorite of our installers.
