Can a Crossbar Be Added Perpendicular to My 2018 Subaru Forester Crossbars

Question:

Any ideas on how to add a bar perpendicular to the wingbars on my car using the t-slots? The purpose would be to possibly use other mounting options not available for crossbars such as the Waterport. Or mounting traction boards sideways rather than flat on top because I have a roofbox taking up most of the space on top.

I may have a solution for you, but there is not a product that exists for this purpose. However, you might be able to install a Rhino Rack Universal Pioneer Platform for Crossbars # RR42115BF, which would give you the perpendicular mounting channels you're seeking. You would also need the Rhino-Rack Accessory Bars for Pioneer Platform Rack - 48" Long - Aero Bars - Qty 2 # RR43137B in order to mount your Thule Motion box on the platform.

Unfortunately this would be the only solution available for this problem.
