Can Weight Distribution Be Used On a 2018 Volvo XC60

Question:

All the XC60-compatible hitches seem to state Not rated for weight distribution systems. Is there a hitch available for this vehicle that is compatible with weight distribution systems? I havent used one yet, but I see many fifth wheel campers, within the 3500lb towing capacity that recommend weight distribution hitches. Am I misunderstanding something about how these systems work together? Thanks.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 cannot use a weight distribution system regardless of trailer hitch as the vehicle is not rated for this. These systems are typically excluded from unibody frames like that on the Volvo XC60. The best trailer hitch option available is the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # SH87FRT. This option, although expensive, is a complete kit that comes with everything you need and has a completely hidden install while not in use for a 100% factory appearance. So long as you are towing within the confines of the owner's manual there should be no issues.
