Recommended Hitch for a 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge

Updated 10/05/2025 | Published 04/23/2025

Question:

Do you have any in use/installed pictures of this hitch? I’m primarily concerned with the depth of the receiver for use with a bike rack. Also looking at the size of the modifications to the heat shield. Thanks!

No, I am sorry we do not have any pictures or instructions of the Oris Hitches Detachable Hitch item # TS76VR installed on a 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge. We haven't had an opportunity to install this hitch yet.

What I do have, that I hope helps, is an installation video and instructions for the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver item # SH87FR, which is almost an identical set up. I have attached these below. We actually installed this hitch on a 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge and took a couple of measurements. The hitch pin lines up exactly with the edge of the rear bumper. The bottom of the receiver sits 11-3/4" above the ground.

What kind of bike rack do you have?

Hey, did the installation video and instructions for the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver help you with your concerns about the hitch depth and heat shield modifications? I'm curious to know if it worked out for you, as it could give others confidence when considering similar setups.

@JerredH I installed the Oris hitch today and watched the stealth hitch video but ran into a problem. The Volvo metal bumper did not fit over the oris trailer hitch. Is that expected? Does the oris hitch act as the new bumper and I should discard the Volvo metal bumper?

@Brian Yes, that's expected. The hitch replaces the metal bumper beam that's mounted behind the rear bumper cover. You can just toss or scrap that beam.
