Question:
what is the difference between the CURT and the etrailer brands What is the better one?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt Cargo Carrier, # C18151, and the etrailer Cargo Carrier, # e98874, are both folding cargo carriers with 60 inch width but the etrailer carrier is 4 inches deeper at 24 inches. They both have steel mesh platforms and raised side rails. They also have the same weight capacity and dimensions.
A small difference between these cargo carriers is bumper clearance. When folded, the etrailer carrier measures 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier. The Curt carrier measures 9 inches.
The etrailer carrier offers a limited lifetime warranty and the Curt carrier offers a 1-year warranty. You can add lights to the etailer carrier and the Curt comes with built in reflectors.
The Curt carrier has a straight shank and the etrailer carrier has a 2" rise in the shank to give your more clearance.
I have attached video reviews of these cargo carriers for you to check out.
In addition to a the cargo carrier, I recommend picking up a locking hitch pin like part # e98880. This will ensure the cargo carrier will still be attached to your car if you decide to leave it in a parking lot or area that you are not familiar with.
