Question:
strange problem, both landing gear go down fine. motor side powers up fine, other side stops going up as soon as pressure is off it. it doesnt release enough to pull the pin, but if i place wood under it in a fashion that i can get a jack under the leg and put pressure on it, it will continue to raise

I spoke to my contact at Lippert, he said it sounds to him like the threaded rod inside the follow leg of your landing gear was the issue. He did not think it was the gears themselves.
Lippert does not sell the threaded rod separately, so you will need to replace the whole jack. The follow legs, such as the Replacement 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Follow Leg w/ Snap Pin for RVs # LC179014, can be purchased separately depending on the current landing gear you have.
