Fit of etrailer Brand e98849 Class III Hitch on 2010 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Before I order the trailer hitch for my 2010 Silverado, I have a question about the mounting hardware. I have seen and read all the comments on the product, most everyone seems to not have any issues. How ever after looking at the stock trailer hitch on my truck that is now rusted out and has to be replaced, I noticed that the two bolts holding it to the frame on both sides, are bolts fed through with nuts on the bottom. Where as in your kit you have one of the bolts threading into the frame? Is there something I am missing? Has this ever been an issue before? I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab.

The etrailer brand # e98849 hitch which is a confirmed fit for your 2010 Silverado.
The hitch installs using 6 bolts, two of which use nuts that are welded up into the holes closest to the rear of the frame as shown in the provided diagram. Two additional bolts are fed downward through the frame and are secured with nuts included with the hitch, and the remaining two bolts are used to attach the flange atop the receiver tube to nuts welded up into the underside of the bumper.
It's entirely possible that the OEM hitch you're removing used different holes in the frame, so check the locations shown in the diagram.
If you do NOT have the nuts welded up into the frame near the end of the frame rails, let me know.
