Question:

Solera awning would not retract without help. When I tried at home same issue. Pushed on the awning to wiggle something free. Awning started retracting fine but going in and out there was a very different, constant noise???

It sounds like your Solera awning may have bent arms or a faulty motor. Check to see if anything looks bent; if the arms seem to be bent then you can match up the replacement arms on the attached link. If the arms seems to be in good working order then your motor may be slowly going out in which case you can replace it with Solera Power Awning Replacement Motor # LC266149.

There is also the possibility that the motor is not receiving the correct voltage. Use a tester such as LCD Digital Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to verify that the motor is getting 12V. I attached a demonstration video for you.
