Recommended 7-Way Wiring Harness for 2021 Chevrolet Blazer RS
Updated 08/03/2021 | Published 08/01/2021 >
Question:
My Blazer does not have the factory tow package, but there is wiring in the back for a 4 or 7 pin trailer socket. I currently have a 4 pin installed but would like to have a 7 pin. Will the 7 pin work without other modification to the Blazer. I was told I may need to have a Chevy dealer reprogram a computer module in the car to make this work.

In order to get a 7-way connection on your vehicle you should be able to use the factory connector you are talking about which has the connections for your current 4-way and also a 7-way.
I recommend the # 118276 Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. This custom wiring harness will plug into the OEM wiring harness where your existing 4-way is plugged in right now. No additional modification should be needed for the 7-way connection to work properly. I recommend the Tekonsha over other options since we have found it to be the most reliable.
I have attached an installation video on a 2019 Blazer for your reference.
