Question:

I am considering buying this trailer hitch for my 2012 Honda Fit: https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2015_Honda_Fit.htm However, it appears the part is for the 2015 model. Would this hitch still be compatible with my vehicle, and if not, is there a different model that would work better?

For your 2012 Honda Fit I recommend the # 306-X7286 EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver. This Class II hitch has a 2" receiver opening with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 300 lbs.

As for the 2015 hitch, a hitch from the 2015 Honda Fit is not compatible with the 2012 Honda Fit.

If you plan on doing some light-duty towing, I recommend the # 118420 Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness for your wiring needs. This is a custom fit part with easy installation. The T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.
