Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Item # C24ER The manual says not to use a weight distributing hitch with their reciever, Can I use one after this is installed?

For your 2021 Volkswagen Atlas we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 76176 that is rated for weight distribution but the Curt you mentioned is not rated for it so it can not be used with it.

With this hitch you could use a system like the Reese Strait Line part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and has the best sway control at preventing sway before it starts.
