Yes, you can install a 5th wheel hitch on your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation Edition with a 5-3/4 Foot truck bed, but any 5th wheel trailer you tow must have a pin box with a rotating pin box. You would want to find the pinbox model number on the spec sticker of your trailer in order to determine if there is a pin box with a rotating turret available to use as a replacement.

With that said, you could use the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Single Jaw - 20,000 lbs # RP30928 and installation rail kit # RP56015-53 and have a nice, reliable 5th wheel hitch setup for your Sierra 1500 Elevation. The M5 has a single locking jaw for 360 degree jaw to kingpin contact, which means less chucking and rattle. There is a custom wedge available for the Reese M5 with the # RP44FR; a custom wedge helps keep the kingpin from rotating inside the hitch so that the only movement occurs at the rotating turret pin box. A wedge of some sort is required with rotating turret pin boxes.

I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out, as well. If you can let me know what the model number of your pinbox is I can look to see if there is a rotating turret pinbox that can be used as an upgrade.

I'm wanting to trade my 2500 Ram in on a 1500 GMC ultimate. I understand the 2500 is the better tow vehicle. That aside, the GMC Denali ultimate has a carbon box and I have been told that you can't put a 5th wheel hitch into one. Are you aware of a work around please? Thank you

@Jeff The 5th wheel rails bolt to the frame rails, so you can absolutely still install a 5th wheel rail kit in a GMC truck with the carbon box. All of the 5th wheel kits we offer would work regardless of bed composition. What year GMC were you looking at? What is the bed length?
