Is There a Longer Data Cable for the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller
Updated 06/01/2021 | Published 05/28/2021 >
Question:
Is it possible to get a longer data cable with this break controller? Or would a cat5 or cat6 cable be able to be used? I think this would be easier to mount in the rear hatch area of the suv. And just tap into the wiring harness in that area, since my suv is not wired for trailer breaks.

It is possible to obtain a longer data cable for the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED24FR. This is not something that we sell but it's a standard RJ45 network cable and you can locally source a longer one if you like but Redarc recommends adding a ferrite bead on the end of the cable near the control unit to prevent radio interference (RFI) if a longer cable is used.
