This is a system that will require setup each time you tow your vehicle but is a confirmed fit for your 2011 Mini Cooper. Since you plan on going through multiple mountain ranges the safest bet is to use a system that is capable of handling the terrain changes you'll be going through. It senses the pressure you're putting on the brake pedal in your RV and proportionally applies pressure to your towed vehicle's brake pedal instead of running off of a inertia sensor which could cause unnecessary braking when going up and own hills.

Since you have a 7 pin connector on your camper you can use the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 to connect your camper to the vehicle and to control your vehicle's tail lights with your camper. This way every time you press the brakes in your camper you 2011 Mini Cooper tail lights will also light up. You'll need install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps Item # RM-9332 to have a powered 12v outlet while your battery is disconnected. To keep your battery charged while towing you'll want to use the BrakeBuddy Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Kit Item # BB54FR.
