Question:
Good Morning, On your website I found the hitch for a mustang convertible. I Because I just moved to America fro the Netherlands I wanted to make sure if I found the right one for my car. car: Mustang convertible 2.3 Ecoboost from 2017 Hitch needed for: Bike carrier platform or trailer. I saw the following hitch: https://www.etrailer.com/p-24928.html is this the correct one. And can you help me if I need other materials as well for the installation? For example If I use a trailer do I need an Electrical cabel as well? And it is for 1 1/4 inch hitch but can I also convert that to a 2 inch hitch? If a buy a bike carrier for a 2 inch for example. Hope to hear from you. Kind regards

The Draw-Tite # 24928 is designed for your 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible. This is a 1 1/4 inch Class I hitch, so it is limited to a maximum of 2,000 pounds towing and 200 pounds of tongue weight. Unfortunately, there is not a larger 2 inch option available for the Mustang line. You can add a hitch expander, like the Brophy # HTAD, to get up to the 2 inch opening, but these do cut your tongue weight in half, so are not highly recommended. That being said, there are some great bike racks available for this style hitch.
The Hollywood Racks Destination # HLY94FR will fit the # 24928 and will not need any kind of adapter. With how this holds the frame of the bikes, this is a very versatile option. It also has an included adapter for it to fit a 2 inch hitch if ever needed.
If you will be towing with the # 24928, you will definitely need some wiring. The Tekonsha # 118487 will have a 4 Flat connection that will fit most small trailers that do not use electric brakes.
