Is the 5k limit on this based on tongue weight? I have a trailer that maxes at 10k lbs. Will this work for it?

The 5k weight capacity of the Trailer Valet JXC trailer jack part # TV94FR that you referenced is for the tongue weight of the trailer so your trailer being 10,000 lbs would be no issue as it would have a tongue weight of around 1,000 lbs. So this jack would easily work well for you.
