Add hydraulic lift to an A-frame work trailer with this 7K double-acting jack. Includes 4 hoses, 8 fittings, and a diverter to help connect it to an external HPU, while 20" of lift handles hitching and unhitching.

Highlights

  • Put Hydraulic Power on Your Trailer: 7,000-lb capacity takes the work out of raising and lowering a loaded tongue.
  • Connection Kit Is Already Included: Four hoses, 8 straight fittings, and a diverter simplify hydraulic plumbing.
  • 20" of Powered Lift: Double-acting cylinder uses hydraulic power for both extension and retraction.
  • Connect to an External HPU: Jack is designed to run from a separate double-acting hydraulic power unit.
  • Know Your Hydraulic Connections: Extend and retract ports accept 9/16-18 #6 SAE JIC 37-degree flare fittings.
  • Plan Your Backup at the Pump: Jack has no built-in manual override, so emergency operation depends on your HPU setup.

Features to Know About

Add Hydraulic Lift Without Starting the Plumbing from Scratch

If you are upgrading an A-frame trailer from a manual jack or adding another function to an existing hydraulic system, this kit gives you more of the pieces needed to put everything together. The jack provides 7,000 lbs of lifting and support capacity with 20" of powered movement for equipment, utility, commercial, construction, and dump trailers.

The cylinder is double acting, so hydraulic pressure powers both extension and retraction. At the ground, the 7" x 7" pivoting foot follows changes in the surface to maintain a broad contact point as the trailer moves.

Connect the Jack to Your External Hydraulic System

This jack does not include its own pump. It connects to a separate double-acting hydraulic power unit through two 9/16-18 #6 SAE JIC 37-degree flare ports. The lower port extends the jack and is rated for up to 3,200 psi, while the upper port handles retraction at up to 1,500 psi.

Unlike the jack-only version, this kit includes 4 hydraulic hoses, 8 straight fittings, and a hydraulic diverter. The diverter is especially useful when the same power unit also operates a dump hoist, letting you direct hydraulic flow between the jack and the other trailer function.

There is no manual override built into the jack itself. If having a backup for electrical power loss is important, that capability needs to come from the hydraulic power unit and control setup you pair with it.

Check the Mounting Pattern Before You Bolt It On

The jack uses a 5" x 5" mounting plate with three approximately 1/2" bolt holes. Mounting hardware is not included, so compare the plate and hole locations with your A-frame and choose hardware appropriate for the trailer structure.

The jack measures 27-1/2" retracted and 47-1/2" extended. Those dimensions, along with the mounting pattern, give you the key measurements to check before deciding where the jack will sit on your trailer.

Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Jack - Hydraulic A-Frame Trailer Jack Kit - e83QV

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the etrailer Hydraulic A-Frame Trailer Jack Kit. Now, folks, this is a round tube design, it's a bolt-on application, rated for 7,000 pounds lift capacity. Now, if you're not familiar with hydraulic, these are really quiet, they're really smooth. And the hydraulic power will raise the trailer for you, so you're not working with a manual hand crank under load jack that sometimes can be just tiresome and unsafe in some cases. So you are gonna get all the hoses, the fittings, and the hydraulic diverter here as well.

Now, this system is basically an add-on, so this works with your already existing external pump on your trailer, and this will connect to that pump with all the materials and fittings that are here. You have a nice seven inch by seven inch foot plate here. And then, of course, the hydraulic fluid is gonna be traveling up this main pipe. And then, of course, you have your standard flange here for connecting this on the A-frame. And then, you have some different screws here if you need to drain fluid for some reason or whatnot, maintenance, those kinda things.

So a very nice, heavy-duty, sturdy design. As far as the retracted height, like we're looking at right now, 27 1/2 inches tall, and you have 20 inches of travel. So 27 plus 20, 47 1/2, right So 47 1/2 extended will be the height of this overall. But the main part is here, again, you're getting 20 inches of extension. So 7,000 pound capacity, it's built for those lighter utility commercial trailers that don't exceed that 7,000 pound of lift.

And again, everything here is a simple bolt-on installation. Now, there is no mounting bolts included, you can purchase them separately. Most likely, you probably have your old ones you could potentially use again if you so choose. And again, folks, all the fittings and everything are included. These blue caps are just put in here for safety to keep grime, dirt, bugs, whatnot out of these hoses.

So even though these are capped, I always recommend people just kinda verify that they're empty, maybe blow some air through them before you connect them and those kind of things, just so you're not getting any kinda gunk or chance of any debris in your hydraulic lines. Folks, that's gonna wrap up our quick look together at this etrailer Hydraulic A-Frame Trailer Jack Kit. I'm Steven, thanks for watching. And if you need help with the install, we do have an installer locator link below on the product page, and we can help find someone in your area based on your zip code to help you with the installation. Thanks for watching.

Looks good out of the box, was thinking about going with a different brand however the price really attracted me to this one. Unfortunately there are no instructions in the box. I’m sure it ain’t hard to figure out but would be nice to have some included.
