Which Straps Do I Replace with the Hatch Huggers for my Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack?

I bought the hatch hugger straps for use on my 2020 Subaru Forester because tech tips said to for more secure fit. It also said to use them to replace the SIDE straps. Installation video shows them being used for TOP straps. Which are they for, TOP or SIDE straps?

The placement of the Hatch Huggers for Saris Trunk Mount Bike Racks # SA3035 depends on the specific vehicle and bike rack. I confirmed with Saris that you should use the hatch huggers for the side straps when using the Saris Bones EX 3 # SA803 on your 2020 Subaru Forester. The other securing straps will be attached as specified in the instruction manual.
