How to Determine the Weight Capacity of a Dexter Axle Based Off the Inner and Outer Bearings

I have a trailer with a Dexter axle and need to find out what the capacity of the axle is and the part numbers of it parts, the tag on the axle doesnt have a weight rating. It is a torsion axle with the E-Z lube system there is no drums just a 6 lug hub. Is there any way to tell by the SN what the capacity is of the axle? The tag reads Dexter Axle P-12 Model SLR SN: D 4771686. I need the part numbers of all the parts in the hub and the e-z lube system and the wheel assemblies. I know that the seal in the hub is a Dexter 10-36. Any help with this would be appreciated!

Though there can be some variations, the # GS-2250DL (10-36) seal would lead me to believe you have a 5,200 pound or 6,000 pound axle. Especially with a 6 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern on the hub. It would not hurt to pull one of said hubs off to verify your bearing numbers to double check, however.
If the Inner Bearing reads # 25580 and the Outer Bearing Reads # LM67048, you will have a 5,200 pound axle. To replace the internal parts of the hub, you would need the bearing kit # BK3-300 and EZ Lube Grease cap # DC250L-DCRP.
If the Inner Bearing again reads # 25580 but the Outer Bearing Reads # 15123, you will have a 6,000 pound axle. To replace the internal parts of the hub, you would need the bearing kit # BK3-100 and the same EZ Lube Grease cap # DC250L-DCRP.
If your bearings do not match either of the above, let me know and we can try something else. As with everything, there can always be variations and exceptions to the rules.
