Can Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Be Run Through 7-Way Trailer Connector

Question:

Since this is hardwired into the battery, will it power the brake actuator on a camper if I use a 4-flat to 7-pin converter with a brake controller in the middle?

The power for an electric over hydraulic actuator will need to pull power from an on-board battery. It should not pull power from the tow vehicle's battery via the trailer connector. That said, the trailer connector will need to have multiple pins to transfer the brake output signal and battery charge line. Therefore, you'll need a 7-way like the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. If you don't have a 7-way on the trailer I recommend the etrailer Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # 277-000141.
