Question:

Is it possible to purchase just a lower arm for an NV 2.0 2inch to replace the 1-1/4inch arm on an NV 1.0?

Sounds like you're trying to replace the shank on the original Kuat NV with a 2" shank from the newer NV? No, that will not be possible. There are so many design differences between the two bike racks that a retrofit like that will not work. Just one of the major changes was the knob that activated the anti-rattle system and that's an important part of the shank which makes it uninterchangeable.

When you are ready to upgrade to the new generation, Kuat just released the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR. Awesome bike rack with great weight capacities and compatibility with different bikes.
