Question:

I bought a kuat NV about 4 years ago. Im not sure if its a 2.0. I tend to think its the original. There was an extender I could buy at the time but now I see that there is a 2.0 specific add on. Will this work with my rack? Its a 2 inch receiver. Thanks.

The 2-Bike Add-On # NA22G is only compatible with the Kuat NV 2.0. If you do have the original you will either need to find it at a parts store or unfortunately purchase the NV 2.0 for the upgrade.

Should you decide to go this route we have the NV 2.0 Base # BA22B-BA02B which basically just lacks the bike stand, or the complete NV 2.0 rack with comes in Gunmetal Gray # NV22G-NA22G or Metallic Black # NV22B-NA22B.

Attached are review videos for both options that you can reference. If you'd rather go with a different rack just let me know and I can help you choose a different bike rack.

Can I use or fashion the Kuat NV 2.0 Add-On without a just rack to carry bikes?

@Steve The Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Add-On # NA22G is designed specifically for the NV 2.0 bike rack with how it installs. If you want to modify it to fit a different purpose then that would be up to you to figure out, and I can't recommend doing that.
